This unknown company Ford Explorer taxi is not an NYCT (NYC Taxi) vehicle, but a few of these have been surfacing online, seemingly doing taxi work alongside the NYCT frequently around the Manhattan area.

This specific vehicle is green, because it is a boro taxi. These "apple-green" taxis are used for outer boroughs or locations throughout NYC that are "underserved" from taxis, according to Gemini. Numbers of these have reportedly dropped to below 900 in 2023, and with this one being taken in late November of 2025, this is a very rare catch.
